The Bible is God’s word given to all people and is designed to be applied to the mind and heart through discerning, interpersonal care. However, human struggles tend to sit on an intersection where historical, emotional, relational and, at times, physiological issues converge, which can make the counselor’s work complicated.
One of the greatest obstacles to growing up counselors within the local church is the lack of access to practical training. There are many mature Christians who know the Bible and have counseling gifts, but have not developed the interpersonal competency and confidence to counsel others.
In an effort to fill the gap between education and practice, we offer weekly supervision where groups of counselors can be mentored as they talk through the circumstances, challenges and questions that surface within the dynamic of their counseling relationships.
*All trainees are required to submit signed counselee consent forms.
