Brent Bouton

I am married to a beautiful and brilliant woman named Brooke and we have two sweet and hilarious children who have far too much energy! My educational background is in psychology (B.S. Olivet Nazarene University; M.A. Azusa Pacific University) and theology (M.A. The University of Manchester). I previously worked as the interim preaching pastor at Ashton-under-Lyne Church in greater Manchester, while completing my theology degree. After returning to the U.S., I completed a graduate degree in clinical psychology and worked as Primary Therapist caring for adolescents in residential mental health treatment, maintained a small private practice, and lead the counseling ministry at our local church.

From 2016 to 2020, my family lived in South East Asia where I preached for a network of Christian Fellowships within greater Kuala Lumpur and taught at Malaysia Baptist Theological Seminary. Currently, my family lives in Long Beach, CA where I am researching the process of identity development among White Christians (PhD Divinity, University of Aberdeen) and occasionally writing for Practical Theology Hub.
